Few words about Gajanan Ashish in the words of Shri.Vasantrao Gogate-
25 years ago, a thought came to me of starting an organization in the name of Shri. Gajanan Maharaj, which would give common platform for all the reform works to be carried out in the name of Shr iGajanan Maharaj. I put forth this thought in front of my friends and everybody liked the idea and showed readiness to help me establish “Gajanan Maharaj Saunskrutik Mahamandal”.
The first work that this organization did was establishment of a magazine called “GajananAashish”. The magazine is of a religious nature and so, I roped in some of the experienced writers and editors from in and around Mumbai.
The Chairman Late Shriram Lele, Mr.Padhke and myself started the work of the magazine. Editing was done by me and printing work was handled by Late Mr. V.K. Padhke alias Bapu Phadke.
All of us despite being busy with our jobs and family chores still would find time for running “Gajanan Maharaj Saunskrutik Mahamandal”. It was a kind of long lost dream of publishing a magazine in the name of Gajanan Maharaj that was coming into light. Never did we fall short of money or help for the same. As the intentions were pure, help and money started flowing in.
Everything fell in place and the first copy to Gajanan Ashish was out where we published around 2000 copies of the magazine. Special mention for Mr. H. I. Nipunge and Vivek Vaidya for the printing, publishing and marketing efforts they put in for this magazine.
I had written a poem in the praise of Gajana nMaharaj, and the same got published in the magazine which was liked and applauded by a lot of eminent personalities. One isShri. Madhavnath Maharaj who was the disciple of Swami Swaroopanand. He liked the articles of Gajanan Ashish and especially the poem “Me whaTumhi“ written by me in the praise of Shri Gajanan Maharaj.
The magazine was inaugurated by him and with his blessings the magazine is still running successfully.
This year we have printed around 10000 diwali aankas.
Its popularity has increased in many folds and people from across the world have subscribed for “Gajanan Ashish”. This magazine connects all the Gajanan Bhakts worldwide.

I would also like to share the following experience; I had after a couple of years about the magazine that proved to me that my efforts and the magazine has reached Gajanan Maharaj.
At Niphad, One Mr.Gadkari, who was a member of Gajananaashish, called me up one fine day and asked if he could come and meet me.
He came to the Gajanan Maharaj Madir, Mahim on a Thursday and told me that he had to share an experience regarding Gajanan Maharaj. I was most pleased to hear the following:
He said, One day in my dreams Maharaj appeared and said, “Where have put MY magazine? Don’t you have to read it? Why is it lying on the loft?”
Next day he woke up and asked his son as to where was this month’s Gajanan Aashish and whether we had received it? His son told him that the same was on the loft and that his son had put it there by mistake.Mr.Gadkari immediately took down the magazine and read it. This incident not only proved to Mr.gadkari that Gajanan Maharaj was constantly keeping a watch over him but also proved that Gajanan Maharaj had accepted my magazine as a Prasad offered to him.
Maharaj had referred to Gajanan Aashish as “My Magazine” which made me so happy and contented and it proved that my seva had reached him.
Gajanan Aashish is indded a blessing if Shri Gajanan Maharaj.
